LOUISIANA IN THE CIVIL WAR

________________________________________
SCOPE & CONTENT

The goal of Louisiana in the Civil War is to provide an online resource of information and links to our great state's involvement in the war. Topics expected to be commonly covered are: Battles fought in Louisiana, battles that Louisianians participated in, unit histories, rosters, uniforms and equipment of Louisiana soldiers, personalities to include not only the leadership of the state and armies but the common soldier, flags and resources to research/read on the state's role in the war.

Louisiana in the Civil War strongly supports the input of the Civil War community. Submissions of stories, information, etc. are welcome and full credit will be given for what we share.

ONLINE: OR ATLAS & RECORDS

The Official Records (OR) and the OR Atlas are cornerstones of Civil War research. There are multiple sources emerging that are putting these sources online for your use. I am linking Ohio State University's eOnline project.

Here is a link to the OR Atlas: The maps are arranged by plate, just like the printed book form. If you click on an image (each image is a plate) you will notice a link below it that allows you to download the plates! GREAT STUFF!

This is the link to the ORs: Notice the different links below the picture of the book. You can search by volume OR do a "search" across the entire collection!

GOOD LUCK and ENJOY.
